  1. You have to use the jquery's text() function. What it does is:

    Get the combined text contents of all
    matched elements.

    The result is a
    string that contains the combined text
    contents of all matched elements. This
    method works on both HTML and XML
    documents. Cannot be used on input
    elements. For input field text use the
    val attribute.

    For example:

    Find the text in the first paragraph
    (stripping out the html), then set the
    html of the last paragraph to show it
    is just text (the bold is gone).

    var str = $("p:first").text();
    $("p:last").html(str);

    Test Paragraph.

    Test Paragraph.

    With your markup you have to do:

    $('a#a_tbnotesverbergen').text('new text');

    and it will result in

    <a id="a_tbnotesverbergen" href="#nothing">new text</a>

  2. The method you are looking for is jQuery's .text() and you can used it in the following fashion:

    $('#a_tbnotesverbergen').text('text here');

  3. $('#a_tbnotesverbergen').text('My New Link Text');

    OR

    $('#a_tbnotesverbergen').html('My New Link Text or HTML');

Slow Android emulator

I have a 2.67 GHz Celeron processor, 1.21 GB of RAM on a x86 Windows XP Professional machine. My understanding is that the Android emulator should start fairly quickly on such a machine, but for me it does not. I have followed all instructions in setting up the IDE, SDKs, JDKs and such and have had some success in staring the emulator quickly but is very particulary. How can I, if possible, fix this problem?
